You can do the same with a Facebook map.<\/p>\n<p>By doing the same with Facebook, not only can it be helpful for social media, but it also makes it easier for customers to find you and check-in. <strong>Adding a Facebook map is great for local SEO.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_Local_SEO\"><\/span><strong>What is Local SEO?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>From <a title=\"SEO 101: Getting Started in Local SEO (From Scratch)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.searchenginejournal.com\/seo-101-getting-started-local-seo-scratch\/127749\/\">Search Engine Journal<\/a>, local SEO is the process of <strong>optimizing your business, so it shows up in the search engines to people searching locally for your services<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Whether you\u2019re a dentist, restaurant, or yoga studio, the only customers that matter for your business are people searching within your city, and because of that, you need to <strong><em>focus your SEO locally where it matters<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>The key<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Optimize your Facebook page for customers to find\u00a0your local business quickly.<\/p>\n<p>The easiest way to do this is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Add an address or Facebook map to your Facebook\u00a0page<\/li>\n<li>Set up your page as a Facebook Place to allow easy check-in by your customers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We show how to do both below:<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Boost_Local_SEO_with_a_Facebook_Map_Its_easy\"><\/span><strong>How to Boost Local SEO with a\u00a0Facebook Map. It&#8217;s easy!<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>1 &#8211; Add an address or Facebook map to your Facebook Page<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Step #1: From\u00a0your business page on Facebook (not your personal one), go to:<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>About\u00a0&gt; Page Info &gt;\u00a0Address<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Step #2: Click on <b>Edit<\/b>\u00a0and enter or update an address for your business<\/p>\n<p>Note: If you add a valid address, people will be able to see and check-in to your Page using Facebook Places.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>2 &#8211; \u00a0Setup your Page as a\u00a0Facebook Place for a local business<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Who should do this:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you have a local business or a physical location where customers can walk in, you might consider using a\u00a0Facebook Place instead of just a page. Many times &#8211; often in the case of restaurants, retail stores, local shops\u00a0&#8211; you will see a Facebook Place already created for your business.\u00a0Customers who come and \u2018check-in\u2019 can do this.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits of Facebook Places:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Similar to Foursquare, using <strong>Facebook Places allows users with smartphones to check-in<\/strong> where they are. This process appears on their wall so family and friends can see what they\u2019re up to.<\/li>\n<li>Whenever someone checks in at your business, the \u201clike\u201d button is in a prominent position, which can help <em>boost the number of likes to your page and increase the number of links to your page<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Local SEO Tip:<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Consider putting up signage in your business to let customers know they can check-in at your location. You may even want to run a deal or discount to help generate more likes for your page.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Don&#8217;t forget to customize the Welcome Note: <\/strong>When customers check-in to your business from their\u00a0phone, they see a welcome note.
