Periscope, the Twitter video streaming app sees about <a title=\"Periscope Has 10M Registered Users Watching 40 Years Of Video Per Day\" href=\"http:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2015\/08\/12\/periscope-has-10m-registered-users-watching-40-years-of-video-per-day\/\">350,000 hours of video<\/a> pass through its pipes each day.<\/p>\n<p>I am not one to jump on the latest trends just because. However, I do see some definite upside for a small business when it comes to live\u00a0video\u00a0streaming.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_live_video_streaming\"><\/span>What is live video streaming?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Think of Meerkat and Periscope as Twitter but with video and more immediate (real-time). Live streaming video is what is\u00a0happening right now.<\/p>\n<p>Live video streaming makes your business more personal. It is a way to humanize your brand and create more trust with your audience. <strong>The apps are designed to stream quick and simple moments.<\/strong> Anyone that follows you can see your live video stream. Anyone who follows you gets a notification to tune in (you can also host a private broadcast for a few selected people), and they can watch in the app or any web browser.<\/p>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve finished your live stream, you will have the option to save the stream to your camera roll. With Periscope, broadcasts can be watched for up to 24-hours after they end.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_are_some_best_practices_I_should_follow\"><\/span>What are some best practices I should follow?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Consider Timing:\u00a0<\/strong>Try not to make your posts\/videos too long. Most people\u2019s attention spans can be pretty short.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Respond to comments live:\u00a0<\/strong>People who are watching your stream will have the option to comment.
