Being a nosey Mom, I asked what they were up to. One responded with, &#8220;we&#8217;re looking at Vine&#8217;s.&#8221; Living in the wine country, I&#8217;m quick to assume they are looking out the window at the vineyards. <em>But, why the giggles?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dlvrit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Vineyard-Road-to-Lake1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11005\" src=\"https:\/\/dlvrit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Vineyard-Road-to-Lake1.jpg\" alt=\"Road through the vineyards and mountains of Napa Valley California.\" width=\"760\" height=\"376\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dlvrit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Vineyard-Road-to-Lake1.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/dlvrit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Vineyard-Road-to-Lake1-300x149.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dlvrit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Vineyard-Road-to-Lake1-700x346.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 760px) 100vw, 760px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Exactly_is_Vine\"><\/span><strong>What Exactly is Vine?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Directly from one teenager: Vine is a <a title=\"vine.co\" href=\"http:\/\/vine.co\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"3\">video-sharing app<\/a>. It&#8217;s fun to look at six-second videos from friends and others you follow on Vine. It&#8217;s similar to Instagram but for videos. Oh and yeah, once it ends, it starts again. There is a ton of funny, and just plain goofy people on Vine, which makes it fun.<\/p>\n<p>(So, just to be clear, Vine is not about vines, or vineyards or winemaking &#8211; after all. It&#8217;s about fun, funny and funnier videos.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>3 facts about Vine I learned from the teenagers:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vine&#8217;s are 6-second video&#8217;s<\/li>\n<li>These 6-second video&#8217;s never end (they loop, and loop, and loop)<\/li>\n<li>It is FUN<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Researching later from my computer, I found out more: Vine is not just any video-sharing app. Vine is designed in a way for you to film short, separate instances so they can be linked together for a total of six seconds. Each short video plays in a continuous loop and is viewable directly in Twitter\u2019s timeline or via <a title=\"Create an RSS Feed of Vine Videos, Plus Other Hacks to Increase Views\" href=\"https:\/\/dlvrit.com\/blog\/2015\/03\/vine-to-rss\/\">RSS feeds to Facebook, Tumblr, and other social sites<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Vine<\/em> is the best way to see and share life in motion. Create short, beautiful, looping videos in a simple and fun way for your friends and family to see.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dlvrit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Vine-Co..png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10992\" src=\"https:\/\/dlvrit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Vine-Co.-1024x325.png\" alt=\"Vine. Contributing to the phenomenon of <a title=\"Which Influencer Marketing Strategy Results in More Customers?\" href=\"https:\/\/dlvrit.com\/blog\/2014\/10\/influencer-marketing\/\">influencer marketing<\/a>, Vine has seen an influx of brand penetration and marketing efforts particularly directed towards millennials. The teenage sensation has over 8.4 million followers on her Vine account, generated 390 million views in June 2015, and picked up 342K new followers last month alone.<\/p>\n<p>Along with King Bach, gamer BoxBox, Rudy Mancuso, Thomas Sanders and other Vine superstars are the <strong>new Influencers for millennials, Pons can command a good fee for any product or service they endorse<\/strong>. While there are some <a href=\"https:\/\/vine.co\/rules\">clear rules<\/a> about what kind of videos you can and cannot post, removing a video requires someone from the Vine community to <strong>report it<\/strong> as inappropriate.
