\u00a0I certainly would never disclose this in an interview.<\/p>\n<p>The amount of resources available today is mind-boggling compared to the \u201colden days\u201d. \u00a0The role social media plays has supplanted just about every human resource tool out there, with the exception of the face-to-face interview. \u00a0Today, you can find out fairly easily if I smoke (no), drink (occasionally, I do live in the wine country) or use profanity (almost never).<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/web.jobvite.com\/rs\/jobvite\/images\/Jobvite_SocialRecruiting2013.pdf\">Jobvite 2013 Social Recruiting Survey<\/a> examines some of these recent trends in social recruiting,<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trend #1<\/strong>: \u00a0 94% of recruiters use or plan to use social media in their recruitment efforts<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trend #2<\/strong>: \u00a0 78% of recruiters have made a hire through social media<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are the recruiter\u2019s social networks of choice with LinkedIn, unsurprisingly, at the top.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.dlvr.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/best-network-for-the-job.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4699 aligncenter\" alt=\"best network for the job\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.dlvr.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/best-network-for-the-job.jpg\" width=\"794\" height=\"289\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dlvrit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/best-network-for-the-job.jpg 993w, https:\/\/dlvrit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/best-network-for-the-job-300x109.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 794px) 100vw, 794px\" \/><\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Trend #3<\/strong>: 93% of recruiters are likely to look at a candidate\u2019s social profile<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>Profanity, and grammar and punctuation errors trigger negative reactions among recruiters over 60% of the time.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.dlvr.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/betterinsightsbetter-choices1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-4704\" alt=\"betterinsightsbetter choices\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.dlvr.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/betterinsightsbetter-choices1.jpg\" width=\"772\" height=\"627\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dlvrit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/betterinsightsbetter-choices1.jpg 965w, https:\/\/dlvrit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/betterinsightsbetter-choices1-300x243.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 772px) 100vw, 772px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Added benefit: With limited spending, social recruiting can generate a strong ROI\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What is often overlooked is the benefit to the bottom line. Social recruiting generates strong ROI, both in dollars and candidate quality.
