I admit it. I have watched my fair share of online videos in the past few years from how to tie a tie (husband out of town and son needs to wear a tie to school), to more recently, how to crack crab legs. \u00a0Just today, I knowingly clicked on a video advertisement that has\u00a0already racked up more than <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mediabistro.com\/agencyspy\/thanks-to-duracell-a-deaf-seattle-seahawks-player-is-the-nfls-feel-good-story-of-the-year_b59210\">1.9 million views since Friday<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0It is increasingly apparent how far video has come to being essential for brands to connect with consumers especially one that includes a compelling story.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some staggering facts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>70% of all online users engage in video<\/li>\n<li>64% of consumers are more likely to purchase a product after watching an online video.\u00a0 Check out our recent blog post on <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.dlvr.it\/2014\/01\/how-to-create-a-youtube-rss-feed-and-instantly-give-your-tweets-a-boost-with-video\/\">How to Create a YouTube RSS Feed and Instantly Give your Tweets a Boost with Video<\/a><\/li>\n<li>4.6 Billion video ads were watched online in 2013<\/li>\n<li>80% increase in reading, clicks, shares and purchases comes from the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.dlvr.it\/2013\/09\/how-to-improve-readership-by-80-with-image-optimization\/\">positive impact from visuals<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.dlvr.it\/2013\/12\/why-photos-and-video-need-to-dominate-your-social-media-post-infographic\/\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/li>\n<li>90% of online video consumption will be from 18-34 year olds by 2015<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Frankly, the last statistic is the scariest of all. \u00a0The youth today, my children, are leading the revolution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This fun animated video and following infographic from <a title=\"iStock Photo\" href=\"http:\/\/istockphoto.com\">iStockPhoto.com<\/a> humorously tells the scary tale of why no one aged 1 to 100 is safe from video.
