RSS uses a family of standard <a title=\"Web feed\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Web_feed\">web feed<\/a> formats\u00a0to publish frequently updated information: e.g., blog entries, news headlines, audio, and video. An RSS document (called &#8220;feed: &#8220;web feed&#8221;, or &#8220;channel&#8221;) includes full or summarized text, and <a title=\"Metadata\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Metadata\">metadata<\/a>, like publishing date and author&#8217;s name.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/smallbiztrends.com\/2013\/06\/what-is-rss.html\">Small Business Trends<\/a> explains what\u00a0<strong>RSS is in &#8220;layman&#8221; terms<\/strong> and why it is necessary for\u00a0your small business.\u00a0We prefer to explain it this way:<\/p>\n<p>We prefer to explain it this way:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An RSS feed gives readers a method to keep up with their favorite blogs, news sites, and other websites.
