How do I\u00a0add hundreds of new fans?<\/p>\n<p>In response, we&#8217;ve put together an easy to follow social profile growth strategy of what we&#8217;ve learned over the years. Here&#8217;s your\u00a04-week action plan:<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Week_1_and_2_Set-up\"><\/span>Week 1 and 2. Set-up<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Plan a content strategy.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Put together a social media content strategy. It doesn&#8217;t have to be complicated but writing your own content and posting consistently should be part of it. Don&#8217;t let your shelves go empty. Follow our simple content plan here: <a title=\"3 Step Content Strategy\" href=\"https:\/\/dlvrit.com\/blog\/2015\/04\/how-to-compete-against-kittens-for-customer-attention\/\">Easy 3 Step Content Strategy<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Start writing before you start promoting.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>This is important. <strong>Before promoting your profile, make it look active.<\/strong> No one shops at an empty store. Add content, comments, pictures etc. Do that every day for about two weeks. Don&#8217;t worry about adding hashtags or retweeting content. You&#8217;re\u00a0still filling up the shelves at this point &#8211; you don&#8217;t want people to discover you\u00a0just yet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Fill out your social profiles completely.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Your social media profiles should be consistent across each network. Add a compelling profile image and a complete bio. Spend the time to do it right.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Week_3_Open_for_Business\"><\/span>Week 3. Open for Business<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Follow to be followed.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Follow who your competitors follow. On Twitter this is especially easy. Go to your\u00a0competitors Twitter profile. You will see the link\u00a0 &#8220;Following&#8221; below their header image.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Twitter Follower Growth Strategy: How We Grew Active Followers by 3x in 5 Months\" href=\"https:\/\/dlvrit.com\/blog\/2014\/11\/twitter-follower-growth-strategy\/\">Search for potential customers, press and influencers.<\/a> Create a focused list of anyone who you want to know that you exist, and follow them. They will get alerted that you followed them. A certain percentage of them will check out your profile and follow you back.<\/li>\n<li>Reach out to your friends on Facebook. Let them know you have a Facebook page for your business.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u00a0<strong>Add hashtags.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Search and Find the Best Twitter Hashtags\" href=\"http:\/\/hashtagify.me\/\">Find relevant hashtags<\/a> with Hashtagify. Start sprinkling them in your updates. Most of the major social networks support hashtags with the exception of LinkedIn. Think of it this way: Hashtags are to social media what\u00a0keywords are to search. They help your content be found across social networks. Don&#8217;t know what a hashtag is, read <a title=\"Increase social engagement by adding #Hashtags to Facebook, Twitter, &amp; Pinterest\" href=\"https:\/\/dlvrit.com\/blog\/2013\/07\/increase-social-engagement-by-adding-hashtags-to-facebook-twitter-pinterest\/\">Increase social engagement by adding #Hashtags to Facebook, Twitter, &amp; Pinterest<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Share content written by\u00a0prospects and influencers.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>This goes along with follow to be followed. There is no better compliment to a customer or influencer then to share their content with your followers. Be sure to add the proper attribution. We add the source&#8217;s twitter handle at the end of the content (ex. via @twitterhandle). This is a great method to grab their attention. Most people monitor their brand name so they&#8217;ll get alerted to your gesture.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Promote social accounts in your email signature, website and blog<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0<a title=\"Is your Email Signature Costing You Business? 3 Common Mistakes to Avoid\" href=\"https:\/\/dlvrit.com\/blog\/2015\/04\/email-signature\/\">Create an email signature<\/a> that includes your social accounts. Add your handles to your website and blog.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Week_4_Branch_Out\"><\/span>Week 4. Branch Out<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Join a Twitter Chat<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Join a <a title=\"Big list of Twitter chats\" href=\"http:\/\/chatsalad.com\/\">Twitter chat<\/a> or Facebook group and contribute wisely. This is mainly to alert new groups of people that you exist on those platforms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Get Active on Quora<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Get active on <a title=\"Quora is a question-and-answer website\" href=\"http:\/\/Quora.com\">Quora<\/a>. Create a Quora profile (several for specific areas of expertise) and follow subject areas. You&#8217;ll get alerted anytime a new question is added. Search for questions in your area of expertise. Share your answers on Twitter and Facebook.
